Purpose of the Funding.
Schools must spend the additional funding on improving their provision of PE and sports, but have the freedom to choose how they do so.
Possible use for the funding might include:
Hiring Specialist PE teachers or qualified sports coaches to work with the primary teachers when teaching PE.
Supporting and engaging the least active children through new and additional clubs.
Paying for professional development opportunities for teachers in PE and Sport.
Providing cover to release teachers for professional development in PE and sport.
Running sports competitions, or increasing pupils' participation in the School Games.
Buying quality assured professional development modules or materials for PE and sport.
Provide places for pupils on after school sports clubs and holiday clubs.
Embedding physical development into the school day.
What is Sinnington School doing with the PE funding?
The Sports Premium funding will be spent on three areas: inspiring the children, staff professional development and providing opportunities to compete through competitions. At Sinnington School we believe if we invest money in these three areas this year, children will be provided with the best provision enabling them tom reach their potential.
Improvements and Sustainability.
The current Sports providers help the teachers to develop their skills in delivering PE across the curriculum. Sports equipment purchased has enhanced the children's skill and enjoyment in becoming physically active. Increased participation in sport across the federation has developed the children's sense of belonging to part of a school team and wider community.
